Rene Girard曾說過‘犧牲羊’和‘暴力’之間有密切的關係, 他的主張雖然有點兒缺點, 但分析人祭和人殉的時候還是흔有用的。此外, 最近還出版了好幾種硏究‘暴力’和‘權力’之關係的書籍, 如Hannah Arendt和Pierre Clarstres。硏究和分析中國的‘犧牲羊’神話傳說, 他們的理論蠻有用的, 中國的新石器時代以來到殷代, 部族和國家首長的‘暴力’和‘權力’就是實行人祭的主要動因。而春秋戰國時代的人殉是由統治階級人士的私欲而造成的, 就是說與個人自私的欲望有密切關係的。每個國家的神話傳說有自己特有的思想背景, 中國‘犧牲羊’神話傳說所隱藏的령外一個主要動因, 就是對國家的‘忠’和對父母的‘孝’之觀念。爲了國家和父母, 好多中華兒女心甘請願的犧牲自己, 此乃是中國‘犧牲羊’神話傳說與西歐國家不同之處。爲了硏究中國犧牲神話傳說應該從幾個方面著手, 那就是暴力ㆍ權力ㆍ自私和忠孝等等的觀念, 分析這些動作機制以後才可以正確的了解中國犧牲神話傳說。
