God intervenes on the side of the wounded people. Jesus paid attention to the wounded people. The MINJUNG and liberating theologians are reading the Bible chiefly from the viewpoint of the wounded people. The purpose of my paper is to underlie much of the world's alienation; to know seeds of hope; to offer visions for educating peace and reconciliation.
Reconciliation is needed with the Spirit of Life and with oneself. then with family and friends and colleagues. Christian Education explores the yearning for wisdom. The yearning for life beyond violence is not naive hope. If education is to support and enhance knowing, then teachers will need to engage people in experiencing, exploring, demonstrating, and reconstructing symbols.
Truth-telling is identified as a basic and urgent response to alienation. It is talking straight with God and oneself and other. Such a talking straight is a prelude to any genuine justice and reconciliation. Participants are active, describing, canalizing, suggesting, deciding, planning. No one has all the answers. And No one is totally ignorant. Each person has different perceptions based on their own experience.
We create needs to be safe environment, an environment where trust is natured so that searching and daring can be encouraged. A safe environment is built by all that has been said above about seeking to know and respond to God, living with questions, and seeking to know ourselves and the world. All of these acts can contribute to sensitivity, trust, and trustworthiness. The educational process needs to be responsive to shifting movements within the learning community-to the issues, intellectual debates, inspirations, moods, confusions, frustrations, eagerness, and tiredness.
Reconciliation is the restoration of good relations between God and humanity, and among people. Reconciliation is a coming together in right relationship. God has given the creation. Reconciliation is indeed a gift, but it is not a gift to take for granted. It is a gift for which people yearn and search. It is a gift known in acts of questing: truth -telling, facing questions without answers, and walking up to the abyss. It is a gift that invites people into action: the actions of building justice and reconciliation one step at a time, posing alternatives, repenting (turning around), remembering and celebrating covenant, and engaging in ordinary interchanges with ordinary people.
