The islands and their seashores consist in the frequent motif of the writer, Yi Chongjun. The real island, the Hol-island has been hidden and unbeknownst under the name of the famous but fictional one, the Io-island. Seven years ago, I worked analytically on the short story of the Io-island under the title of the Floating Signifier. But I encountered with his another one, the Island. And then I comprehended that my previous analytic work of the Io-island had been performed on the two-dimension, mise a plat. Because I read out the Real and objet petit a in his another one, the Island.
In Yi's short stories, the island seems to be "the territory of death", where the journalist Chon's corpse returned to without any damages in the Io-island, and visitors' fishing boat returned to in the Island. Particularly I perceived visually the Borromean knot on the last scene of the Island, which "I" of the story saw the beacon lights of the island between the forks of Mr. Hong's trousers. The lights seem to be objet petit a, which will be written in its central intersection, wedged "anamorphically" between real, symbolic and imaginary.
