The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the literary meaning of Buddist poetry of Maewoldang(梅月堂 金時習, 1435-1493), explaining image through his works.
We will look around aesthetic characteristic in poetry. Aesthetics is method, which express and form the World, and of thinking, aesthetic consciousness, aesthetic recognition of one artist.
The Seon[禪] is express the marrow of comprehension in Buddhism. We will going to consider sean-mind as literary shaping of comprehension. But As a result of comparing of Buddhist poetry of Maewoldang with other poet or case of Seon-master[禪師], this study show you the poetic recognition of Maewoldang. This light up property of Buddhist poetry. We can consider Seon-mind[禪心] as an aesthetic recognition.
In the future, the concentrative and careful inspection will be required to understand poetry world of Maewoldang. And I expect that his characteristics about aesthetics is stood out in bold relief by deep studying and discussion about his poet-spirit and poet-vision.
