The goal of this study is to estimate the required urban facilities of 6 cities within Seoul Capital Region by using the simple and multiple regression analysis at the horizon year of 1996.
Before the estimation of urban facilities, first, the socio-economic factors to influence the urban facilities are evaluated by using the simple regression analysis with the statistical year book of Korea. Secondly, the 8 urban facilities are estimated with 7 socio-economic factors as independent variables using multiple regression analysis. Naturally we have had the problem of selecting the number of independent variables in the multiple regression model for each facility. It is executed by C(p) analysis using computer algorithm.
Finally the value of each facility is determined mostly by the regression analysis, but the criteria value by Ministry of Construction and the stastistical value by the year book(1990) of Ministry of Home Affairs are also replaced case by case if the latter values are greater than the former values.
