Pansori is a form that realizes a literary story, and Sasol in Korean, with a narrative synopsis into musical sound, and Sori in Korean, on stage of performance, Therefore, it is proper to look into its characteristics in consideration of its power to embrace various genres and its artistic comprehensive power.
This study sought the characteristics of the Pansori's Sasol, the literary story, as an item that is related with the language, and at the same time, this study also considered musical elements with various powers of expression together with the character of the scene for the realization of the genres.
As a result, the characteristics of Pansori could have been summarized into the 'beauty of sound(Sori)', by pursuing identity between literary story, Sasol, and the musical notes, 'beauty of make-up(Chire)', by presenting the scenes into concrete shape, and 'beauty of the other side (Yimyeon)', by describing the emotional aspects immanent in literary story into symbolic sounds.
Plus, this study discussed that, in this case, there is a need to establish the terms, 'Sori', 'Chire' and 'Yimyeon' as concepts that materialize the organic body of their own, which are not just limited to either literature or music. The discussion in this study could provide a chance to integrate the two concepts, 'Pansori Sasol as a linguistic art' and 'Pansori as a performance art'.
