The purpose of this paper is to classify Korean vocabulary by the semantic criterion. In this paper I tried to answer the question that is "How do we get a classificational system which is faithful to the native speaker's cognitive system?" Until now we cannot find a satisfactory answer for this question I have reasons for saying this. There is no definite semantic criterion that reveals the cognitive system And there is no attempt to distinguish the classificational system from the semantic field and the semantic network. For these reasons, semantic classification of vocabulary has been arbitrary and purposeless in the linguistic aspect. So I discussed the matter that established the definite classificational criterion And I used the classifier system, the pronoun system and the Qualia structure for the constitution of the criterion Because only the criterion that based on phenomena of language can reveal the cognitive system objectively.
