Clean Natural is a new disinfectant of which main components are propolis and wood vinegar from Quercus mongolica. Sprague-Dawley rats and beagle dogs were used for Clean Natural to investigate single dose toxicities. In single dose toxicity test for rats, three groups (10 rats of both sex) were administered orally different dosages of Clean Natural, 2,000 ㎎/㎏, 1,000 ㎎/㎏, 500 ㎎/㎏ and one group (10 rats of both sex) were received by orally only water. For dogs, one group (3 beagle dogs of both sex) were administered orally the dosage of Clean Natural, 2,000 ㎎/㎏/day and the other group (3 beagle dogs of both sex) were received by orally only water, respectively, In rats, there was no alteration in body weight and no death or abnormal clinical sign were observed and LD50 value of Clean Natural was above 2,000 ㎎/㎏ for both males and females. Also, in beagle dogs, death, temporary body weight loss and abnormal clinical sign were not observed and approximate lethal dose of Clean Natural was above 2,000 ㎎/㎏ for both males and females. These results indicate that the minimum lethal dose and no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of the test substance were considered to be more than 2,000 ㎎/㎏ in both beagle dogs and rats for both sexes.
