The Study On The History Of Chong-Myo(宗廟) Through The Chang So-Gak Materials
In korean history, The ceremony on the Chong-Myo(宗廟) implies the most important facts which symbolize the national status. in choson period, the standards on Chong-Myo(宗廟) was those for the king under the emperor. but in the empire of the tae-han(大韓帝國) period, the standards for the emperor was made. and in the japanese colonial period, the standards was again changed, for the emperor was demoted the wang (王) under the japanese emperoe(日本天皇).
The ChangSo-Gak was royal library during the choson period. So The ChangSo-Gak in the academy of korean studies at the moment has the most important materials on Chong-Myo(宗廟).
The ChangSo-Gak has 272 kinds-456 books-materials on Chong-Myo (宗廟) in all. there are 148 kinds-247 books of the choson, 38 kinds-76 books of the empire of the tae-han(大韓帝國) period, and 86 kinds-133 books of the japanese colonial period.
In choson period, the royal ceremony was at the same time the national ceremony. the standards on Chong-Myo(宗廟) was most im￢portant among the royal ceremony. the standards on Chong-Myo(宗廟) can be classified as below.
First, the standards on the construction and the repair of Chong-Myo(宗廟). second, the standards on sacrifice. third, the standards on en-shrining tablet. and forth, the standards on exshrining tablet.
The ChangSo-Gak has 10 kinds-13 books for the standards on the construction and the repair of Chong-Myo(宗廟), 45 kinds-126 books for the standards on sacrifice, 61 kinds-63 books for the standards on enshrining tablet, and 19 kinds-20 books for the standards on exshrining tablet.
In a word, The ChangSo-Gak materials on Chong-Myo(宗廟) are necessary for the study of choson.
