The Protocol System in the period of Goryeo, the Post as Hangdu (行頭) and Bansu(班首) involved in execution is originated from 『Datangkaiyuanli大唐開元禮』 of Tang(唐) Dyasty and 『Zhenghew ulixinyi政和五禮新儀』 of Song(宋) Dynasty. However, this ceremony is not just accepted to Goryeo itself, it was the new form of ceremony mixed with the traditional ceremony from Silla.
This thesis made a clear for the characteristic of Protocol System in the period of Goryeo through the origin of Hangdu and Bansu and the applied cases in the period of Geryeo. The term of Hangdu from Goryeo is originated from Han(漢) Dynasty, but it is used as a similar example with Wisuja(爲首者) of 『Datangkaiyuanli大唐開元禮』 and Hangsu(行首). Hangdu had more cases to use in the Goryeo’s way of ceremony than in China’s.
Bansu is the Ceremonial Post which appeared in 『Zhenghew ulixinyi政和五禮新儀』 of Song Dynasty and Goryeo is accepted this. But Goryeo is just accepted the name of Post, not the 『Zhenghewulixinyi政和五禮新儀』. As the typified example is the ceremony that Prince is received a formal visit from the followers in New Year[王太子元正冬至受群官賀儀]. Hangdu and Bansu are both used here and the process of ceremony is Goryeo’s exclusive form. And also, the ceremony of Panguanhoi(八關會) which is Goryeo’s festival used both Hangdu and Bansu at the same time. Hangdu and Banso are as the clue to understand the Protocol System which is not disclosed until now so that it is necessary to have the deep investigation.
