It was general to prescribe 『Byeongangsoega』 as the discourse of sexual ethics or the discourse of having reflected life in nomadic people. However, this study regarded it as being able to elicit the motif-consciousness, which had been made more acute, through analyzing Ongnyeo's thinking or Chisang(performing a funeral service). As a result of mutually comparing Byeongangsoega and the exemplary woman(烈女) discourse in such aspect, both discourses were noted especially a point of accepting with the central case of Chisang. Chisang(治喪) in the exemplary woman discourse is shown in one element of Yeolhaeng(烈行).
On the other hand, it is changed into motif, which exerts great usefulness in ridiculing or criticizing an idea of Yeol(烈) in 『Byeongangsoega』. Heroines in the biographies of chaste women don't raise any objection to what Chi sang is a task that will need to endure and accept all the pains and trials. However, despite that Gangsoe asked for faithfulness and suttee, Ongnyeo results in facing big difficulties due to Gangsoe's curse in the wake of trying to hastily perform a period of mourning by calling men outside in.
Given saying the curse made by Gangsoe as patriarchal arrogance that the lower-class man imposes to the lower-class woman, it is what suggests that even Ongnyeo, who is an owner of history in demoralization, couldn't help being limited the width of movement as much as being within the male-dominated structure. However, Ongnyeo didn't easily satisfy a husband's request. Without abandoning own slogans such as life of centering on couple, neglect of Bulgyeongibu(不更二夫), and conquest of a sense of sin, which had been insisted in the beginning, Ongnyeo seems as if waiting for the male-dominated thought to be changed.
What the intention of having aimed to reveal consciousness of lower-class woman. who opposes to the patriarchal authority in high-class man. failed to be fully delivered to readers will result from that the integument in discourse called joke & humor previously captured line of vision.
