Hotel information systems (HIS) is emerging as an increasingly important method for conducting business activities in hotels. The use of internet and microcomputers as intelligent terminals in a distributed HIS has introduced control exposures. Management must divert more resources to is controls in order to successfully implement and manage HIS. As an HIS is integrated and the speed of processing increases, errors in programming and data input can seriously affect the system's performance.
The purpose of this study is to understand the critical role of IS controls on HIS performance. HIS is controls are composed of management controls and application controls. This study selects two kinds of HIS performance - HIS quality and user satisfaction. HIS quality is divided into three parts. i.e., - information quality, systems quality, and service quality.
The research model was tested by multiple regression analysis and structural equation modeling using a sample of 583 respondents who have worked with HIS.
