Cultural contents are the space to realize the incarnation of myth. The myth is, in this case, a kind of model which induces new creations upon it. A characteristic of myth of Jacheongbi is that she is a female heroine who is very persevering. She is much more brave and positive than the other Korean goddesses. The reason why the myth of Jacheongbi is concerned to many Koreans is related to the current of the times, that is, postmodernism. The feminity, oppressed in a male-oriented society, is throwing in a postmodern times.
The myth of Jacheongbi is recreated not only in literature, but also in comic books, animated cartoons, and performing arts. The myth retains life through its recreation in the various cultural contents. The first thing in the recreation of myth is a new interpretation of creators. The main function of the dialogue with myth is to bring the tradition to life as well as to confirm a strong correlation between the tradition and the actuality of our society.
