This article is an investigation of some strategical ways for depatriarchal reading of myth. For this, I suggest three strategies: reversion, de-construction and expansion of myth. Firstly, reversion of myth is to try different creative re-interpretations of given myths or to discern different voices from the polyphony of myths so that it overturns previous malecentric understanding of myths. Secondly, the deconstruction of myth is to revise previous mis-translations or to historicize the formation of myths so that it suspect the fixity of myths in patriarchal context. Lastly, the expansion of myth is to discover marginal texts such as different versions and oral traditions or to newly re-write well-known myths so that it extends the mythical sources for women’s voices. I elucidate the basic principles of these three strategies for de-patriarchal reading of myth by examining some exemplary works of reversing, deconstructing and expanding myths.
