This study is to make clear the mixed results of salespersons' efforts. Different from the past studies, this study investigated that the consumers’ perceived motive(a selfish motive, a strategic motive, reciprocal motive) plays an essential mediating role in the relationship between the salespersons' efforts and the salespersons' attitudes.
The results of data analysis show that the salespersons' efforts positively influence on a selfish and strategic motive. Also, Both a selfish and strategic motive negatively influence on the salespersons' attitudes. Finally, a reciprocal motive positively influences on the salespersons' attitudes. But, salespersons' efforts do not influence on the perceived reciprocity.
