Report Errors
Candidate coatings on H13 steel substrates aimed at improving the tribological performance of die casting dies for the industry have been extensively characterized. In order to reduce wear they are almost always surface treated by various forms of heat-treatment. Surface-coating by physical vapour deposition(PVD) or chemical vapour deposition(CVD) is currently being introduced as a means to further improve the wear resistance. In this paper a pin-on-disk configuration at speed of 0.1 ㎧ with load of 1.51N was employed to study the wear behavior. Vickers microhardness was measured using a load of 9.8N and an average of three readings was taken.
