The Museum conducts to be a place to take communication between exhibition and visitors. The curator is devising an exhibition method so that communication between visitors and the exhibition is performed smoothly. However, it is difficult to judge whether a current exhibition method is effective for visitors. Therefore, performing exhibition evaluation by questionnaire and pursuit observational survey, and the quality of the exhibition and visitor's satisfaction rating have been improved. However, the questionnaire survey is unstable so that data change by a question item and questioner's subjective element strong and not accurate, and the pursuit observational survey is not efficient because the measurable number of visitors is restricted. Therefore, we collect more exact and objective data efficiently and think it desirable to perform exhibition evaluation.
Tn this research, we constructed the system which collects objective data and evaluates automatically, and presents an evaluation result simply so that curators can grasp intuitively. In this system, we have them do Early Registration to evaluate more in detail when visitors visited, and carry PDA around when they move in the museum. This System collects the data of a visitor's action history automatically. All the data collection is performed without making a visitor conscious, and those are saved in a server after the visitor's sightseeing. Analysis and evaluation are performed from the saved data, and the evaluation result is shown as information arranged visually. By this, curators can recognize the tendency of data intuitively. We want curators to use this system as one index which decides exhibition method. As a result, we are pleased if it leads to the improvement of visitor's satisfaction.
