Lee Dongyun kept calm voice in his literary works, many unofficial tales and Jessijeongssibuheengtiok, the life story of his elder sister, Ms. Lee, who was like a mother and teacher to him, when he described her life focusing on the way she overcame her loneliness. sorrow, and illness, rather than on how they are depressing to her.
His works show Ms. Lee had a positive attitude to pain and knew what she had to do in despite of her weary life. They found what meaning Ms.' s Lee's life has, stressing Ms. Lee's academic knowledge and literary interest along with her womanhood and showing some episodes where she overcomes agony bravely. Therefore. her life reconstructed by Lee Dongyun had epic truth, she was thought to be a woman saint and her life had a meaning. Like this, the value of Ms. Lee's life is exposed by Lee Dongvun s record so Ms. Lee is rewarded for her life that is full of lack. loss and despair.
As referred above, Lee Dongyun tried to be objective on his sister's life and emphasize her meaningful activities. As the gap, however, got bigger between the fact of the agony she went through and what she accomplished the writer emphasized. the brother's pity on his sister's tragic life got clearer. Lee Dongyun tried to reward her sister for her agony in any ways. who survived any misfortune with strong will for life. His regret and sadness was shown between the lines.
