As the modern society becomes diversified and international marriage families are increasing, the demand of multicultural education is also growing. Although teachers of children already recognized the necessity and the importance of multicultural education, it is the reality that the loss of self-confidence of the teachers caused by lack of teaching material, teaching methods, understanding of proper teacher’s role, and theoretical concept of multicultural education imposes heavy burden to teachers in practicing multicultural education,
Therefore, this study intends to help finding direction for proper multicultural education of children by suggesting multicultural education teaching method and showing relevant results.
The multicultural education has to promote coexistence among members without discrimination recognizing variety of cultures existing within society. It is important for teachers not only to provide children with activities for fun but also to raise ability of critical thinking by making them think why it resulted to as such.
Multicultural education for children should be started from the human and material resources with which children make contacts directly. It is the role of multicultural education, when seeing the foreign people, to make them pass by casually without considering them as strange or someone special. However, the effect of multicultural education depends on the knowledge level of parents and the teachers, who are teaching children, and their attitude for multicultural education. Therefore, it needs to educate actively teachers and parents about the multicultural education and it should not be considered as one special program.
