It is required to actively excavate his lost works first, in order to confirm the texts of Lee Ho-Cheol’s Novels. I found that many of Lee Ho-Cheol’s Novels were frequently rewritten. Most of the adapted works were conducted when publishing a collective book of works, binding his drafts.
Lee Ho-Cheol’s Novels in 1950s found through the contrast between the versions that there are two difference. One is the point that his rewriting novels was changed for making the mood. And the other is the point that should focus the objectivity. It is considered that most of his 50's rewriting novels was desirable in order to effectively communicate the readers and to improve the level of korean of novels.
The other side, in his 60's rewriting novels was indicated that his literary characteristics changed to reflect the spirit of the times and socially critical realism. These revisions are contribute to this novel to construct its structure and the whole significance the reality-reflective characteristics of social situation in the 60's. Therefore, I believe that Lee Ho-Cheol’s is a workmanship author in these aspects.
