The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of sensory-motor functional training on agility in the Taekwondo players. To achieve the purpose, 40 Taekwondo players were chosen randomly from C high school and they were divided into two particular groups, which are sensory-motor functional training group and conventional training group. Each group has total of 20 Taekwondo players and they were trained for 12weeks in method of their own. After the training period, all players were tested. Instantaneous reactionary force was tested with vertical jump, standing broad jump, and muscle power. Agility was tested with side-step test, z-run test, shuttle run test, semo agility test, and whole body reaction time test. Collected information was applied with independent t-test, repeated measure two-way ANOVA, and ANCOVA by using SPSS WIN 14.0 program to generate results as such follow. Through sensory-motor functional training, a development of agility was shown in side-step ability but not in conventional training group. Also, through whole body reaction time test, an improvement was exposed considerably after sensory-motor functional training, but not in conventional training group. However, z-run agility was increased greater with conventional training group compare to sensory-motor functional training group. Through shuttle run test and semo agility test, no effect was found. As a result, training mechanism with combination of sense-motor nerve’ function increases power by inducing highly coordinated movement, and multidirectional foot work and coordination of neuromuscular system, especially improvement of agility was found through cognitive information process and activation of muscle collaborative control system.
