The purpose of this study was to empirically examine the relationship between the dispositional flow(flow trait) and performance in soccer. The 186 elite soccer athletes completed post-event self-reported the dispositional flow assesment, which is The Flow Trait Scale(FTS) developed by Jackson et al(1998, 2001). Athletes were also asked to rate their performance. Rating were on an 5-point scale ranging from 1(extremely low) to 5(extremely high). The coach also rated athlete’s performance on an 5-point scale. The correlation and one-way ANOVA were used to analyse the data. The results were made as follow. 1. Positive relationships were found between all flow trait factors except loss of self-consciousness and time transformation and self-rated performance. 2. All flow trait factors except loss of self-consciousness and time transformation reveled higher score in according to increasing of self-rated performance. 3. Positive relationships between challenge-skill balance, time transformation, and autotelic experience among the 9 flow trait factors and performance rated by coach were obtained. 4. only autotelic experience among flow trait factors revealed higher score in according to increasing of performance rated by coach.
