Children’s literature was under totalitarianism in 1950s. Most of the writers put this ideology to children unilaterally at this period, but Wonsu Lee was different with them. He showed self-reflection and purifying processes in his works. In those times, he showed a strict moral sense in ‘Children’s Lake’. The main character had been away from real world and had judge’s point of view in his mind in fantastic world, so that he had moral sense of obsession to look back himself continuously. Through this, he hoped to transfer to in the real order. Wonsu Lee showed a strict moral sense superficially, however, told the forgiveness inside. In that a strict moral sense was influenced by the dominant discourse of those times, that was the limit of not writer but times.
