I have investigated on study lists of Kwanno mask play. With time’s viewpoint and man’s viewpoint of Kwanno mask play, I looked for the study of Kwanno mask play extended after 2000 years.
The actor’ name of Kangnung Kwanno mask play is Kwanno. The meaning of Kwanno is slave. Kwanno’s character reflected social rank in Chosun dynasty. Kwanno mask play is dumb show. Thus people interpret mask and play freely. There are expressed the limitless imagination power. I hoped to re-estimated Kwanno mask play very highly on the value of mask play’s world vision over time and space and social rank.
In mythic world that world people will be hoped, in the space of mask play that will be hoped Kwanno’s dream as emancipation of slaves, in beauty sense between mask and play, me theme of rejection the evil and acception the good also will be expressed.
