This research tried to criticize they followed T’oegye(退溪) and Yulgok(栗谷)’s mind theory, which previous research find out, by analyzing Lee-Ik(李瀷)’s mind theory. For these works I reconsidered structures of mind and also some issues of Four-Seven Debate(四端七情論) from it.
First of all, he pointed out ‘Jigak-Sim(知覺心)’ and ‘Euhlee-Sim(義理心)’ were revealed based on dualistic structures of ‘Hyulyook-Sim(血肉心)’ and ‘Sinmyung-Sim(神命心)’. Hyulyook-Sim directly participates on Jigak-Sim as heart which called HyungGi(形氣). And Sinmyung-Sim makes Euhlee-Sim with controling that Jigak-Sim. He brought up ‘SimWhal theory(心活論)’ according to these activities.
Based on these SimWhal theory, I looked issues ITom Four-Seven Debate. In ‘Li bal-Sol(理發說)’, Sung(性) is only for GiJilJiSung(氣質之性) and Sim which surrounded sung is separated with Sinmyung-Sim and Hyulyook-Sim, also things manifested from it have only differences from HyungGi. This opinion became a ground of Seven-Four can not be separated from awaring HyungGi is conditions of existential of human. In the controversy of ‘GongHeeNo(公喜怒)’ does not think Hyulyook-Sim should be exist without controls of Sinmyung-Sim and also there were no wise discussion showed in the process of connection with Sinmyung-Sim.
The discussions as above, we can see Sim theory of Lee Ik became totally different with T’oegye and Yulgok’s one. Especially He got different results ITom understanding about duality of Hyulyook-Sim and Sinmyung-Sim effects on steady role of Jigak-Sim and Euhlee-sim’s manifestation, for reinforcement of T’oegye’s ‘Hobal-Sol(互發說)’. In other words emphasis by characteristic of human innate, and also understands of Hyulyook-Sim is necessary for being human. And also became look positive daily emotions by letting Seven emotions(七情) is not really different with Four beginnings(四端). This shows at last desire became affirmative, then it makes us to discuss more closed with human, by bring into humans existential condition. I think this theory strongly effects to scholars think the way of Silhak(實學) after all.
