The purposes of this study were to investigate differences in interest in the physical education subject and attitudes toward class participation among students and to analyze how much impact the former would have on the latter. For those purposes, the study sampled 320 from the population of middle and high school students in Gyeonggi Province through convenience sampling. With the PASW Ver. 18.0 statistical program, the collected data were put to One-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. The research findings were as follows: first, the students" interest in the physical education subject was examined according to their grades and functional levels. The results show that those who had high grades and functional levels were more perceptive of interest in the subject with statistically significant differences between the groups, Secondly, the students" attitudes toward class participation were also examined according to their grades and functional levels. As a result, those who had high grades and functional levels were more perceptive of attitude toward class participation with statistically significant differences between the groups. Finally, the students" interest in the physical education subject had statistically significant impacts on their attitudes toward class participation. However, competency and value & effort of the factors of interest in the subject did not have any impacts on satisfaction and achievement of the factors of attitude toward class participation, respectively.
