In Confucian book, the Hyo concept is a constant norm and basic virtue in human life. However, the Hyo concept has been used as an ideology for suppressing the people by the dictators in China and Korea. This study researches whether or not this kind of Hyo concept is found in the Bible.
This study finds out that the basic concept of the Fifth Commandment in the Ten Commandments is different to the Hyo concept. And this study figures out that both Jesus"s teaching and Paul"s in the New Testament are different to the Hyo concept. As a result, this study concludes that there is no such kind of Hyo concept as an ideology for suppressing the people by dictators in the Bible.
