Since the emerging and dominant paradigm of green growth was adopted as the key agenda of the global society, green living has been a growing issue and is examined in this study. In particular, the awareness of housewives on the green home project and their green living were analyzed. The main method utilized in this research was a selfadministered questionnaire survey, and the survey form was structured by using 8 different guidelines to green living. Two hundred twenty six responses were collected nationwide, and 200 cases out of them were used for data analysis. The statistical techniques included descriptive analysis and factor analysis. Most of the respondents were middle-aged, full-time housewives with college graduate, and they were middle-class homeowners in recently built condominium. A half of the respondents were aware of Green Home Project, and those who were familiar with the project actively practiced green living. Based on an array of green living sources such as guidelines and manuals from public institutions and non-profit organizations, items of green living were structured, and the 106 items were divided into 6 categories - water, waste, transportation, air, consumption and energy. The results indicated that the extent of green living varied with demographics and housing characteristics. Respondents who were highly educated, old, religious, living in owned condominium were likely to make their living greener. It"s implied that more proactive strategies of green living in both bottom-up and top-down approaches are necessarily developed and essential in order to efficiently and effectively drive green growth.
