The purpose of memorial architecture is to commemorate a historical event or person. However, in terms of the memorial of modern architecture, the controversy has been focused on how one symbol can embrace or reflect various values of individuals as well as on the sustainability and typical limitations of the expression. Therefore, this study attempts to learn about expression methods of symbolism by case studies based on storytelling techniques of modern architecture in connecting the subjects of memory to audience. Furthermore, by reconsidering the repetition of conventional designs of authoritative and declarative memorial halls, it is also aimed at applying future-oriented design to memorial hall construction.
