The purpose of this paper was to explore the differences in Ego-identity, Family functioning, inter-generational solidarity, school life adjustment according to gender, and the effects of ego-identity, family functioning, inter-generational solidarity on school life adjustment among the middle school students. Subjects of this study consisted of 3145 the middle school students. The study used data from wave middle school of the Korea Youth Panel Survey(KYPS). Data were analyzed by the method of frequency, percentage, Cronbach’ α, factor analysis, t-test, regression analysis using SPSSWIN program. The results of this study were as follows: 1) there were partially differences in Ego-identity, Family functioning, inter-generational solidarity, school life adjustment(teacher’s attitude, friendship, attitude during class) according to gender 2) for male students, Ego-identity, Family functioning, inter-generational solidarity had predicted to school life adjustment and for female students, Ego-identity, Family functioning, inter-generational solidarity had partially predicted to school life adjustment.
