Nowadays pattern-making textbooks used in colleges have been focused on comprehension of patterns rather than practical application. So the purpose of study will be approached to a substantive pattern-making in academy. The study will analyze five textbooks being used at the present colleges so that pants patterns of it would be compared to each other according to aesthetic and functionality. Aesthetic will arrive at a conclusion through appearance assessment and functionality will arrive through movement conformance. As a result, the selected pattern which is textbook D, having the highest preference is capable of developing the practical standard for pattern.
