The purpose of this article is to review the postpamdial hypertriglyceridemia(PHTG), atherosclerosis, and oxidative stress for preventing cardiovascular disease. It has been proposed that postprandial hypertriglyceridemia can cause endothelial dysfucntion, and that repeated episodes of PHTG may promote the increase of oxidative stress and development of atherosclerosis. Also, postprandial state is influenced by kind of diet, sex, age, smoking and exercise. Further study is needed to study about improvement of postprandial state and to assess the impact of exercise induced lipoprotein changes.
