There was an administration of a major criminal case against Oh, Shi-su in the process of wrapping up Gyeongshinhwanguk under the leadership of King Sukjong and the mainstream Seoins including Kim, Su-hang. Oh was charged with slandering the late king by creating a story of "The subjects are strong" in the first year of King Sukjong"s reign(1675) and attempting to implement the words of Bokseongun Lee, Nam in the 11th year of King Hyeonjong"s reign(1670). The story of "The subjects are strong" was used as an excuse to eliminate Oh that survived in the process of purging Namins after Gyeongshinhwanguk. The process of obtaining information to find truth before interrogation was a formal procedure to get the answers they needed through bribery. There was a deep suspicion that the translators of Qing Dynasty and Joseon changed their words in the middle, but there was no cross-examination for them in the interrogation process. Testimonies and circumstantial evidence favorable to Oh were not adopted, either. In the end, he died by drinking the poison given by the King.
A diplomatic document sent from Qing Dynasty in the 12th year of King Sukjong"s reign(1686) confirmed that the story of "The subjects are strong" was not created by Lee, Nam or Oh, Shi-su but originated in Qing Dynasty. Furthermore, Lee, Nam and Oh, Shi-su were kinsmen, but they did not share a political destiny together. Oh"s charges, "making the story of "The subjects are strong"" and "attempting to implement Lee, Nam"s words," were a logic that lacked probability. The unreasonable administration of a criminal case against him failed to persuade even some Seoins as well as Namins. Those who raised doubts about the administration of a criminal case against him and made sympathetic arguments for him such as Nam, Gu-man, Yun, Ji-wan, Jo, Ji-gyeom, and Park, Tae-bo were all later categorized as Soron. The disruption among the Seoins to be represented as the split between Noron and Soron was already starting in the administration process of a criminal case against Oh, Shi-su in the sixth year of King Sukjong"s reign.
