G. A. Cohen"s critique of both classical Marxism and liberalism deserves as the starting point of the new search for an alternative ideology to overcome the present catastrophic polarization. He rejects Marxian historical inevitability thesis of coming of socialist equality and centralized planning economy which history shows nothing but disillusionment. However, he does not give up socialist idea of equality and community of which he thinks as genuine essence of socialism morally superior to capitalism. He asserts that we should reject resolutely neo-liberal capitalist false idea that socialism pursuing equality and community is inimical to human nature. He makes good example of camping in which we are naturally to be equal members of community of care. Although he confesses that he does not know yet of social technology to expand it to human society in broad scale, he hopes positively that we come to know of it some day. In this context, he criticizes both libertarian view of self-ownership and egalitarian liberal view of social justice which justifies the present capitalist logic of market by emphasizing the supremacy of individual right of choice.
