This study compares and analyzes the domestic grading assessment items by grasping the problems of objectivity and reliability of hotel industry grading assessment items, doing an actual condition survey on overseas hotel grading systems and then providing efficient alternative items. However, our national grading assessment items, dissimilar to those in advanced countries’systems, specifically converge on tangible services and physical facilities at large. This domestic system is more concerned with the convenience of grading assessment itself than amenities or emotional services for hotel customers. Additionally, it seems that a sufficient scrutiny with ample time should be made for more definite and ideal assessment criteria, now that the form of a business hotel gets bigger and much varied. In order to maintain the domestic hotel products at the level of advanced countries, a detailed assessment for intangible services should be reinforced and also a sophisticated analysis into and a careful deliberation of current grading assessment items should be needed for the sake of an ideal realization of hotels" grading system.
