As cultural diversity and quality of life becomes recognized as important issue in this contemporary society, housing is also expected to be changed from uniform apartment building culture.
Biotopia, a leading detached house village, was developed both as a retirement village and a second home concept can be a target for analysis for future design in this kind.
The purpose of this study is to identify environmental design characteristics of Biotopia in the holistic health perspective. The list of characteristics was thoroughly made through field observation. The Characters were analyzed using a holistic health concept.
As a result, the features of the village were systematically described to show the health related function. The result can be useful to explain specific health features and design strategies in creating healthy building and village.
