It was in Hukui p.refecture that Silla p.eop.le settled early. Some p.eop.le arrived there through East Sea directly and other p.eop.le arrived there through Kyushu and Seto Inland Sea. Their remarkable traces are left in shrines. The Silla p.eop.le in Hukui p.refecture has several traits in terms of shrine. Firstly, the references of Silla kingdom has several variations; Siraisi, Sirogi, Sirahige, Sinro. Secondly, the deities the shrines dedicated to are changed. Though some of them are dedicated to Susano-related deities, most of them are dedicated to the p.rogenitor of Jap.anese Emp.eror under the influence of central archives of Koziki, Nihonsyoki, Sinsensyosiroku and folktale of Dep.endent Arising of Siragizenzindo as well. Thirdly, the shirines tend to relate themselves to the central p.ower. In p.articular Siragi in Wakasa is involved with Toudaizi in Nara where Zitcyu was first settled and inhabited; the birthp.lace of Ryoben; the origin of sp.ring water in Nigatsudo in Toudaizi. These are oral traditions and rituals. Fourthly, the meaning was comp.letely lost because of the substance has transformed. The examp.les are the legend of Hinogawa which relates Silla with the ghost of grudge; in the lap.se of time the legend of Silla bell in Zyogu shrine would change from the object of loot to that of exchange which brought p.eacefully.
