The purpose of this paper is, from the standpoints of an area literary theory as materials study, to grasp aspects of existence aspects of travel lyrics text of Yeongnam province area and to disclose features of the text centering around aspects of space perception.
To do that, first of all, the scope of Yeongnam travel lyrics was determined and, according to the scope, relevant pieces of work were extracted from the collected existing lyrics. Next, existence aspects of pieces of work were summarized centering on readers, travel places, itineraries, features of literary works, time of writing, etc. And, it was confirmed that those literary works contained rather different aims and grammar, while sharing mountains, rivers and arbores, the spaces of literature creation of the nobility in Yeongnam province. This study gave an opportunity enabling extensive discussions about local literature based on the nobility which has been discussed on the basis of Chinese literature.
Also, the author divided the spatial aspects of these pieces of work into longing and experience, and, after looking into each feature, found that it respectively plays a role of granting each reader identity and dependence. Through this, the author described the features and meanings of travel lyrics of Yeongnam province by contributing to examining how the same space obtains historicity and difference by readers and literary forms. Especially such work has significance in that it gave prominence to features of materials for local study by cleaning up a process of forming interest in and affection for relevant areas by the residents.
However, this discussion was made from the standpoint of materials study for local literature study, so an individual research of the pieces of work has not been made. Individual researches are scheduled to continue to be looked into in the future.
