This research worked on this thesis focusing on 〈Flower Song〉 and 〈Tear-Jerking Farewell Song〉 created by the Andong Kwon family clan from Gail village during the Japanese occupation period. In Chapter Two, the background for creating Gasa and was looked into and its author's identity was revealed. Gail village called ‘a Moscow of Andong’ witnessed the socialist movement getting developed briskly during the period of the Japanese occupation, and Andong Kwon family clan were aggressively involved in this movement. The author of 〈Flower Song〉 Kwon, Oheon, the grandson of independence movement activist Kown, Joonhee, was leading his life as a socialist movement activist. The author of the work 〈Tear-Jerking Farewell Song〉 Kim, Woomo was the mother of Kwon, Oheon.
In Chapter 3, this researcher took a look at the world of these two Gasa. The work 〈Flower Song〉 was created at Goeun Temple where Kwon, Oheon stayed for recuperation after he was released from a prison in 1929. The work 〈Flower Song〉 is a kind of Youngmulga where he glorified 14 sorts of flowers and at the same time, it assumes a character of Gasa resistant to Japan. Kim, Woomo created the work 〈Tear-Jerking Farewell Song〉 at the time when she moved to Manchuria, where Kwon, Oheon stayed, to seek refuge in 1940. This work is Gasa full of lyricism lamenting her misfortune of having to leave Gail village and also a Manchurian exile Gasa.
In Chapter 4, this researcher inquired into the significance on Gasa literarature history of these two Gasa. The two works of Gasa have a Gasa history-based significance in that they succeeded to the tradition of the poetry of Youngmulga and Lamenting One's Misfortune’, and also Gasa literature shows its aspects coping with the modern times and its transitional aspect. In addition, these two Gasa assume a Gasa-historybased significance that the works were created with the background of socialist movement, which is really rare to be found.
