I will study for Liang Shuming’s concept of ‘Lishing’ (理性) and the treatise of human nature in 『The Analects of Confucius』and 『The Works of Mencius』. First of all, I will compare Liang Shuming’s concept of ‘Lishing’ with Liang Zhebo’s ‘moral mind’ (倫理心境) to examine if Liang Shuming’s Lishing works as a cultural paradigm because of its stable structure. The structure of cultural mentality of Li Zhehou can be refered regarding the subject above.
Second I will examine the possibilities that chinese national spirit Liang Shuming’s Lishing contains can be expanded to the general spirit of humankind. Then I will study the contents of Mencius’ ethical view that humans are born good, humanity-justicecourtesy-sense which are the basis of Liang Shuming’s Lishing.. Hopefully better comprehension about Lishing is expected with this article.
