The 2nd world war and the Korean war left Korea and Germany in near total ruin and in the divided into two parts. And then, two nations developed economically highly, namely ‘Miracle of the Rhein’ and ‘Miracle of the Han’. Despite of the same conditions, Germany is a high developed state but Korea is a underdeveloped in the area of environmental politics. With this respect, this paper purported to analyse the causes of the underdevelopment of korean environmental politics in the comparative way.
The paper analysed the environmental politics in the 3 areas, namely beginning of environmental movement, appearance of green party and establishment of environmental ministry. This paper concluded that the cause of underdeveloped environmental politics in Korea is the undemocratic politics.
