The status of Korean language is rising along with the number of students who wish to enrolling Korean universities and graduate schools. This phenomenon naturally leads to TOPIK becoming a hot issue in the field of Korean language education. In addition, the enforcement of the ?IEQAS: International Education Quality Assurance System? is enhancing the importance of foreign students’ language capability in university assessment. Moreover, this situation is becoming a burden to Korean language education institutes and teachers. Reading is the most commonly used language technique for foreign students studying abroad. This study focuses on how diverse question types among reading education centering on textbooks from Sogang Univ. may help in understanding the text. The type of questions in both TOPIK and textbooks from Sogang Univ. will be analyzed in order to find the right category of questions which are relevant to the TOPIK reading test, where the type of questions are already set. A lecture proposal will be made for enhancing the reading capabilities of students, along with emphasis on finding reading strategies and methods.
