Dialects over peace in Korea in the early 20th century were shaped by the influence of war and international politics. During the Russo-Japanese War (1904~1905), for example, public opinion on the issue of the peace was led by the newspaper, Hwangseong simun, and was focused on the Asian value system, Confucianism, in the confrontation between East and West as a way of bringing peace. After World War Ⅰ, discussions about world peace were more common than before in the news as the international political order changed, and concepts such as culturism, democracy, and socialism gained prominence. In the discussions about world peace, the democratic establishment of international unions and cooperation suggested by the theory of reformation was called for by intellectuals And When postwar settlements between the victorious powers had been completed in early 1922, socialist anti-war voices replaced the discussion of world peace in advocating a class struggle to gain national independence (from foreign occupation).
