The purpose of this study was to find suitable resistance training methods for prevention and reduction of obesity in the middle-aged obese women mesuring change of leptin, ghrelin, and HMW Adiponectin following resistance training undertaken with different repetition number per set. The participants were 24 middle-aged obese women with more than 30% body fat. They were divided into 2set, 3set, and 4set groups and 1RM 50% was loaded on each group for exercise intensity. 2set group repeated 18 times per set, 3set group repeated 12 times per set, and 4set group repeated 9 times per set. resistance training program was conducted four times a week for 12 weeks, 40 minutes 1-6week, 50 minutes 7-12week. result, suppressing of appetite hormone, leptin was not different between groups but significantly low in 4set group after exercise, and improvement of appetite hormone, ghrelin was significantly higher in 2set group than 4set group. HMW Adiponectin was higher in 2set group than 3set and 4set groups. This result shows that the method of increasing repetition number and reducing the number of sets during weight training is effective for prevention of obesity and the method of reducing the number of sets and increasing repetition number per set is effective for improvement of appetite hormone Activity. Reducing the number of sets and increasing the number of repetition during weight training for growth of HMW Adiponectin.
