This study investigated the effects of the popular crossfit exercise on obesity, improvement of life habit disease and health, the differences of the crossfit exercise as compared to various other existing exercises, and a brief history of the crossfit exercise through the detail discussion about previous researches of the crossfit exercise.
The crossfit exercise was introduced to public in 1996 by Greg Glassman who was a weigh lifting coach. Summarizing the reason of the crossfit exercise popularity were control of energy metabolism and the reduced boringness with given WOD performance. And many rounds of exercise can be performed in given time period and given amount of exercise. These competitive factors can give to participants self directed motivation. In addition, methods of the exercise are based on runing, lifting, pulling, and throwing which are fundamental human movements. Also, it could be applied to every participant by controlling exercise intensity.
However, without careful attention, it can create muscle and tendon injury, retinal detachment, striated muscle acrosteolysis, and other various injuries. The possibility of the occurrence can be reduced to minimum by crossfitters and crossfit trainers are having the right knowledge, full-filling the basics, consideration of individual fitness level, taking precedence on quality rather and quantity, and focusing on plenty and sufficient recovery.
In conclusion, although the crossfit exercise can not be suggested to improve a specific sport skill, it could be a new conceptional exercise to gain every human fitness factors at once through functional, synthetic, and complex exercise. Further, the exercise time can be shortened, the effectiveness can be doubled, and the boringness can be demolished.
