The purpose of this study was to find out the differences of Self-Concept between students majoring in dance(Korean folk, Modern, Ballet) and general students in girls` high school. The subjects were 121 dance students(Korean folk dance 47, Modern dance 32, ballet 42) from art high school and 50 students from general high school. The students of total 171 were randomly selected in Seoul. In order to measure the Self-Concept of the subjects, this study used Tennessee Self-Concept Scale developed by Fitts(1965). which was consisted of 100 items on 9 factors: 1) Self-identity, 2) self-satisfaction, 3) behavioral self, 4) physical self, 5) moral-ethical self, 6) personal self, 7) family self, 8) social self, 9) self critic, The statistical methods to analyze collected data were oneway ANOVA for the tests of hypothesis and Duncan`s Multiple Range Test for post hoc comparisons. The results from this study could be summarized as followings: 1. Korean folk dance group had significantly lower self-identity than general student group. 2. Modern dance group had significantly lower self-identity than general student group. 3. Ballet dance group had significantly lower self-identity than general student group. 4. Modern dance group had significantly higher self-satisfaction than general student group. 5. Modern dance group had significantly lower solf-identity than Korean folk dance group. 6. Modern dance group had significantly lower family self than general student group. 7. Korean folk dance group had significantly lower social self than general student group.
