The main purpose of this study is to figure out antecedents that induce companies to implement supply chain environmental management in a responsive supply chain and examine how the antecedents of supply chain environmental management and the factors of supply chain environmental management influence corporate management performance.
To attain the goal, the current study selected the antecedents of supply chain environmental management as its independent variables and partnership, environmental innovativeness, and environmental regulations as subvariables, and it chose supply chain environmental management as its parameter and green purchase, design for environment, cleaner production, and extended producer responsibility as subvariables. Lastly, it selected corporate management performance as its dependent variable and environmental performance and management performance as subvariables. And the author formulated hypotheses about correlation among them and then verified them.
The results of verifying the hypotheses among the variables selected are as written below:
First, the antecedents of supply chain environmental management have been found to exert significantly positive effects on supply chain environmental management(β=.713, p=.000). Second, supply chain environmental management has positive effects on corporate management performance(β=.597, p=.000). Third, according to the results of verifying the mediating roles of supply chain environmental management in between the antecedents of supply chain environmental management and corporate management performance, supply chain environmental management has been found to play mediating roles(β=.623, p=.000). In other words, the antecedents of supply chain environmental management exert positive effects directly on corporate management performance; however, it is possible to attain higher corporate management performance through the mediating roles of supply chain environmental management.
With the findings, the study has figured out the antecedents of supply chain environmental management being planned and implemented by companies in a responsive supply chain. And the author suggests that supply chain environmental management combining eco-friendliness and supply chain management should exert significantly positive effects on corporate management performance.
