Report Errors
As the population of cities has been growing its size, the cities have developed rapidly and the need for proper outdoor space design has become more important. Also, in urban area, there are many problems such as heat island, building wind and the use of outdoor spaces in cities has been becoming various. Therefore, outdoor spaces are important to make sustainable cities and it greatly contribute to urban livability and vitality. However, there is no index to evaluate outdoor thermal comfort in urban area. This paper presents appropriate thermal comfort indices for outdoor spaces and explain which index can be used for urban design. Also, through the review of existing researches, the factors which is influence on thermal comfort and the comfort range of SET* are analyzed.
