The purpose of this study is to examine the influence to the flow experience and life satisfaction in risk sports participants. To accomplishing this purposes, 450 subjects were selected using the multi-stage stratified random cluster sampling method from risk sports areas such as rock climbing, skin scuba diving, and snow boarding from 1998, June~1999. May. The data for the study was collected through survey questionnaires. For the data of sports flow, ESC developed by Scanlan(1993) and standardized into the Korean language by Jung(1997) was used, and The Satisfaction With Life Scale(SWLS) developed by Dinner, Emmons, Larson, and Griffin(1985) and standardized into the Korean language by Won(1989) were used. The statistical methods utilized for testing the hypotheses were Cronbach`s a. descriptive statistics, ANCOVA, standard multiple regression analysis, using the residual after controlling the socio-demographic characteristics, and path-analysis through standard multiple regression. From the analyses of the data, the conclusions of the study were obtained as follows ; First, risk sport participation pattern, flow experience, and life satisfaction are partly different in relation to the socio-demographic characteristics in risk sports participants. First of all looking at the flow experience, we can see that in both cognitive and active flow areas, men are shown higher than women, and in the active flow area, those participants with more experience flow experience result. Also, men are more satisfied, and the higher the income class, the higher the life satisfaction becomes. Second, The pattern in risk sport participants and the difference of flow experience is a partial influences on both life satisfaction and flow experience. Third, The flow experience in risk sport participants is a partial influence on the life satisfaction.
