The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different stretching type on morphological and neuromechanical properties of human lower leg muscles in vivo. Twenty healthy volunteers(n=20) participated in this study. Prior to and immediately after the stretching exercises, muscle architecture, strength, contractility, activation were simultaneously measured using an integrated system of ultrasonography, dynamometry, elec-tromyography and electrical stimulator. Pennation angle from the results of the analysis of the difference between the before and after stretching, static stretching group, half relaxation time, neuromuscular activation of stretching after significant differences were found(p<.05). However, the dynamic stretching group did not show differences in all the variables be-fore and after exercise. Twitch torque and passive tension in the results of the comparison of the difference according to the type, the fascicle length of the pre-exercise group, there were differences between groups after exercise, pennation angle(p<.05), but that there are differences between groups both before and after the rest of the variables in the stretch type showed no difference between group. In conclusion, the acute effect of static stretching was found to be more pronounced compared with dy-namic stretching, suggesting that the caution and careful prescription might necessary for performance en-hancement and rehabilitation.
